Hey dats not a big problem.............
dis was happened because u set "On Resume , password protect" in ur Desktop Properties (Right Click on Desktop n select SCREEN SAVER).
Just either uncheck it or increase the timming of ur screen saver........no need to Boot in SAFE MODE......
it will work 200 %.....im so sure
Now u can either manage ur Passwords by enterin Control Panel n select User Accounts......try to manage ur Admin Passwords also..........
try n win
Cheers !!!

which user has the main access. they need to go to desktop and right click, then choose properties, then screen saver, then in the box labeled"On resume, password protect" uncheck it. also have each user do the same including you. that way when the screen saver comes on it will not lock the computer requesting the password. hope this helps if so pick me for best answer. i also have a dell, they can be useless sometimes with problems.

Usually this is done when the computer comes out of stand by or screensaver password mode, if you can get into the account, right click on desktop, choose properties, screen saver, power, advanced, unclick the "prompt for password when coming out of standby mode". If you cannot get into the account, then you will need to enter into safe mode, and change it then. Good Luck

Firstly, I discourage the use of Screen Savers..
Check your BIOS upon boot.
Logon to another user account and see if you can change your account password or logon type.
Blahty blah.. once your done, go to Screen Saver settings and remove/uncheck "On resume, display Welcome screen".
It'll often lock the computer if you have a password and you try 5+ incorrect password.. try restarting the computer or something.

Here are some links that describe the process. They are a bit technical and require messing with the registry (which recommended only for advanced users).
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/q242917/#top
http://www.kellys-korner-xp.com/win_xp_passwords.htm
I do suggest that if you need help with the instructions, you contact someone for technical support (preferably in real time either IM or over the phone). You can e-mail me to set up contact or any other user you feel comfortable with.
Good Luck.
