How do you make gta san andreas run on windows vista?

After installing the game, it would not start when I tried to, and it says it needs the original disc inserted into the drive, although I have the original disc already inserted. Please help!

on some people's computers it doesn't work with Vista, that's why I'm gonna wait for a while.
