I was looking through the synopsis and they said that Will and Elizabeth ally with Captain Barbossa... which I thought he was dead the last time I checked. Is this new to everyone or is it explained in part 2 of the trilogy? If explained in part 2, please don't spoil it for me; I'll look into part 2 when I have the chance.

It is NOT "explained" in movie 2...he simply returns in movie two. Yes he probably did die, but however Tia is a "witch" and she probably "went to the ends of the world" to bring him back. Why she did i dont know...and wasnt said. It will most likely all be summed up in the third one.

Actually Barbossa was dead in the first movie. If you didn't question that, why question how he can come back again.
