I would have to say Clint Eastwood because he is so highly recognized for his directing abilities. Alot of people would love to work with him. John Wayne he acted in so many movies but it's just doesn't amount to the amazing work Clint Eastwood has done. His directing totally over shadows any movies John Wayne has done.

Clint Eastwood by far. Unfortunately, John Wayne was probably better than some of the cheesy characters he played. And a pinkish hanky around the neck isn't exactly "True Grit".

This was a tough question! Both are amazing. I will always love John Wayne! He is the Duke! He is meaner and tougher! LOL!! Too bad he died! Id love to see what kind of western he would make today with all the special effects we have now a days!
