do the red tail cat fish compatible with oscar fish? will they fight. ?

The red tail catfish will grow to be a 5-6 foot monster and will eat anything that it can get into its' mouth, including the oscar that it grew up with.

They will probably be OK with each other if they are both the same general size right now. The oscar will grow an inch a month if fed properly and water changes are done correctly. In a year, the oscar will be a foot long and the red tail will be about a foot and a half.

They need to be in a 55 gallon tank from the get go and in a year, you will have to put them into a 125 or larger. Red tail cats are not aquarium fish unless you have the room and the cash to get a large enough tank for them. You have chosen two of the most labor/cash intensive fish out there, good luck.

At 2 feet long (one third of their adult size) they need at least a 125-180 gallon tank. Adults should only be kept by zoos or commercial aquariums with tanks that range into the thousands of gallons.

Oscars are incredibly violent towards other fish given the chance and somehow from the sizes the red tail can get to, I doubt its a good combination. Also If you are getting a red tail cat fish, please please have a big tank as most fish stores will NOT accept it back if its outgrown your tank. They need at least 800 gallons to my info.

I would suggest you see copperheads very well thought out and very accurate answer to when you asked this a few hours ago. They don't mix and red tail cats shouldn't be aquarium pets.
