she worked for the NAACP as i recall and had the ability to have help back her up.

The rest were just jailed and arrested as i recall. A lot of things in life are like that.

For example if i killed my spouse i would go to jail.

IF i were Beretta (that guy from tv) or OJ, i would walk free.

odd how that works.

where did you get your "100's of other black men and women that did the same thing before her" statement from? What is this "same thing"? The civil rights movement was not a one incident occurrence. By refusing to give her seat to a white man, while seated in the "colored" section, she risked at least arrest and at most beating and death at the hands of the police. She did have a support system of church and family that prevented her from coming to harm or disappearing into the system.

It's all media. Rosa (as one guy already pointed out) worked for the NAACP and was known. It became the civil rights movement because big peopel knew about it, that's it.

It's just like ANY OTHER topic. For example, did you know that Canadians won the most important battle of WW1 at Vimy Ridge? Do you know about the repressive regimes in AFrica practicing genocide right now? Most people don't, becuase the media doesn't care about these things becuase they don't relate tot he audience they're broadcasting for.
