Only in the genre of fiction does anyone live just the way she or he wants. I take it that you do not want the story that you are authoring to be fiction, but rather something real. If you do, then you must abandon fiction and write your story as something else. There are lots of choices!

The way we want, that sounds like a youthful thought! Living with responsibility causes a person to grow in wisdom and knowledge. I'd rather have boundaries with the freedom of thinking than lawlessness and the bondage of stupidity.

Freedom involves responsibility. If we don't do what we "must" do we will never be in a position to do what we "want" to do.

Necessity precedes desire, but admittedly we are also pressured by friends, family, society, etc. Living in a world with others means compromise; therefore, absolute freedom in every area of our lives seems nothing more than a fantasy.

We do live the way we want. That in itself is why most of us are in bondage. Jesus Christ untangles the bindings that keep us from living fulfilled, content lives. Free from things like unhealthy addictions, sexual sin, pride . . .all things that keep us from God.
