Absolutely.
Women have a deep desire to socialize with many people. In point of fact, Women need people. That's contrary to independence. You can NOT be independent if you need people.
So why do they call themselves independent? Pride. (not the emotion pride. The character trait pride.) Because the world today tells them that they should be independent. Pride as a character trait is annoying.

No, I have raised both of my daughters to be independent women. I learned along time ago not to depend on a man for anything. My youngest daughter's father left us holding the bag. He had fun making her, but refused to care for her.
