The question read, "If you were given a choice, would you rather be Mexican or Black. Most said Mexican. I read some of their responses and at first I was a little bothered by it. That's when I remembered something. I remembered that life is more than skin color. None of us were involved in the "creation" process. That is to say, that "none" of us had a choice in what color we are. On a much larger scale, I find it disgusting and universally insulting to the Creator. Having said that, it's sad that people think they're "special" because of their color. At the end of our lives, and yes we all will eventually die, all flesh is the same. Worm food. :) Comments?

Well...as much as anyone would want to deny it, stereotypes and generalizations stem from truths. so they pick which they think is better

It is sad that people still judge on race. People don't realize that RACE is a SOCIAL CONSTRUCT. Genetically there's not a hell of alot of difference at all. A good example to illustrate this is high incidents of lactose intolerance. Central African populations are tied with Eastern European populations sharing a generally high population that is lactose intolerant. That is a SHARED genetic trait that surpasses skin colour.

Fact is, most traits do surpass skin colour, which is a very minor genetic attribute. The Human "races" have not been separate long enough to develop any real differences from one another genetically.

Beyond that, since race is simply a social construct loosely based on phenotypes, how can people really categorize race? They can argue skin colour soley decides race, but what about the more important biological attributes? It's just like the Sarcee Tribe in Southern Alberta Canada sharing a high type A blood type that is usually associated with Western European Celtic groups.

I think education is the only real cure for misguidance in the form of racial prejudice. Certain ethnicities in America are generally worse off than others NOT because of race, but simply becuase of historical injustices and lack of opportunity. Facts are, a white male that grows up in Beverly Hills has much more opportunity than a black female who grows up in Harlem. Conversely, a white male in Newfoundland probably has the same opportunity as a black male in the same location.

And I know this is getting old, but chances are most people in this world are multi-racial at some point in time in their genes. People are people and that's it, case closed.

I agree with you 100%. Some ppl are just ignorant and really need to get a clue. No one id better than the other, and personally I love being black, we have way more culture then they every will and as you can see, they are very envious of it( such as the white rapper show). I say don't worry about those ignorant ppl bc in the end we will be the last ones laughing.

I agree with you 100%. It's sad that some people enjoy taking credit for something they never had a hand in creating and skin color is totally meaningless anyway. Worm food!! I like that.

I haven't even read the comments but I know exactly what many are going to say. Still, you are very right. I have totally abandoned the concept of skin color. Instead, I just see the person as he/she is, a human being.

"If you were given a choice, would you rather be Mexican or Black."...first of all, this is a rhetorical question...and because i is a rhetorical question, because you can't pick your race, I don't hold someone's race against them

Secondly, those kinda questions invite ****** idiots like 'Francine' (yup, I called you out) to chime in...and who really gives a fvck what people like that have to say...best thing to do, make something of yourself by going to college or whatever means you can, live a happy productive life, and people in higher educated circles focus more on achievements versus race/looks/blah blah blah

i definetly agree with you! finally some one came out with this and addressed it! the only difference between whites, blacks, asians, hispanics, pacific islanders, native americans, ect... is the pigment in our skin. that's all it is, i don't know why people make such a big deal out of it

everyone knows blacks are at the bottom of the pile, i'm black and i know it so that doesn't suprise me at all. i agree when we're dead, we'll all be "worm food" but that says nothing for when we're alive!
