When you look at people some more than others have very similar facial characteristics. They aren't related in any way, shape or form but manage to have similar bone structure, the same type or eyes, noes, etc. Is it human genetics? Does nature have a set of facial characteristics and that everyone is a mixture or a variation of different sets? If someone can give me a logical somewhat scientific explaination, it would make my day ^_^

People on the other side of the earth may have DNA more similar to yours than the person next door. There was so much mixing in our past that we can't evenkeep track.
I have a hypothesis that when I see someone of a very similar body and facial type to someone I know, that their DNA may be fairly similar. Like maybe they are 4th cousins. That would mean that they have the same great-great-grandparents. I would love to test this out someday.

The face is a relatively small area. It surprises me that more people don't look alike. Just think, most of us have a forehead, nose, two eyes, cheeks, mouth, and a chin. Just the slightest variation in any of these parts creates an entirely different face. It really is quite a marvel. As to when people tell you that you look exactly like so and so.......they are usually wrong. Standing side by side there would be quite a difference.

Well, one of the variables is that a lot of characteristics are ethnic. I have been told I have a "Swedish nose," for instance.
I also think you somewhat answered your question...we are all human...and there's a lot of us on earth, so unless we start morphing into another species, I think there is a limit on the number of variations we have in facial structures.

Because no matter how many fruitcakes try to convince you that we are oh, so unique as individuals, we all come from the same source.
Therefore, we share many characteristics. Not just in looks but mannerisms. It's what enlightened thinkers have known for years. We are more alike then most average thinkers will ever be able to grasp.
