I wouldn't worry about it really when I was pregnant with my first child I wanted cookie dough and couldn't find the expired date either till I had eatten almost half the bag (those kind that are already for you all you do is break and put on the cookie sheet) and my son is fine in fact he is now 1 1/2 and perfect and I didn't even get sick.

Did they taste bad? If you ate half the bag and didn't notice anything wrong, they were probably okay. If they were bad, indications might be that they were dried out and limp instead of crisp and moist, or they could have been a bit "slimy". I think you would have noticed either of these, so chances are, the carrots were not harmful to you or the baby.
Usually the expiration date means "Best by" the date shown - I don't think it means the food went bad on that date. I don't think carrots would "spoil" like fish or dairy products, so you are probably just fine.
To be on the safe side, I would dispose of the rest of the carrots and make sure what you eat is fresh.

Carrots can last a pretty long time in the fridge...I think if you didn't notice any texture or taste/smell change in them that you are probably ok. Generally, if they feel slimy or are discolored (like brown spots all over), they are bad. Carrots that have HUGE splits in them should be avoided as well. (but those ones probably won't get you sick...they just aren't as fresh as can be.) If it was truly spoiled, it would have tasted bad and you certainly wouldn't have wanted to down half the bag. Give your doc a call tomorrow and ask him if it will give you peace of mind..and if you start to feel sick at all, then call tonight. Hope it turns out ok! Good luck with the baby! (And kudos to you for grabbing the carrots when you're hungry...I'd have probably grabbed cheese, or worse - the dreaded ice cream!!! I was such a dairy freak when I was pregnant.)

I'm assuming these were fresh carrots (as in raw carrots). If so then you have nothing to worry about. First of all the date on them is (as with most everything else) is a SELL BY date, not an expiration date. Secondly, if they had been "expired" you would not have been even remotely interested in eating them, them would have been at least beginning to get mushy!

The date isn't the date the carrots will 'go bad'. it is the date they can no longer sell them. Generally things last much beyond the expiration date. I am sure you are fine. Don't make yourself throw up. If you're still worried, call your dr or an emergency room for advice. Good luck!

If they tasted ok and were not slimy or moldy they were A OK lol You would know if they were spoiled belive me, some veggies like carrots seem to keep forever, goes along with the date on milk...most of the timme milk is still good about a week after the date, usualy not always but it is not always spoiled on the exp date. Good luck and Im glad to see that your eating vegies rather than cup cakes lol. good for you! congrats on your pregnancy!

If you ate them they couldnt have been that bad....I ate the peanut butter that was "contaminated" throughout my last trimester and I gave birth to the most perfect and healthy baby boy on the 28th.
You are fine. If they were still crisp you are good. Carrots have an expiration date? I just know things are bad if they are limp and gooey!

did they taste funny?? if not then dont worry about it. most of those are ''sell by'' dates, and dont mean you HAVE to eat them by then. if they taste and smell fine then dont worry about it. normally with carrots when they go bad they are mushy, and you would definitely notice if there was a change in them, no matter how hungry you are. lol so i really wouldn't worry hun.

LOL...I think weve all been there, but , I wouldn't worry about it. Foods like veggies have tell tale signs that they have gone bad...namely the taste and texture. If they were okay enough for you not to notice, you should be fine.
