I think Gerry Raferty's "Right Down The Line" is probably my favorite. It is a love song that puts the feelings that I have for my fiance perfectly. His song Baker Street (which is considered by some the greatest song ever) is also a favorite and anytime I hear it, I take it as a warning not to waste your life on booze and unsavory women but rather, find the right person, a person who treats you well. The songs are his two biggest hits, and tell stories that are totally opposite as one is very depressing and the other is happy.
My favorite artist would probably be Johnny Cash.

Two Sons In the SUNSET by Pink Floyd. That song was like a turning point in my life where the past, present and future was very ambiguous but in the same breath I had to keep moving forward at all cost.
