Looks like he is still in retirement and might not return with his expertise unless his son gets into serious trouble.

The last book was "Teeth of the Tiger" in 2002 (?) and included Jack Ryan Jr. (the "little Jack" born at the end of "Patriot Games"). I'm afraid former President Jack Ryan has retired to Peregrine Cliff and may be working on his memoirs.
