You need a surveyor. Not only will a surveyor help with what you are looking for, they can also tell you if the land is polluted, if there are any minable minerals in it, or if there is a giant sinkhole underneath just waiting to devour you. You are likely required to pay for a survey before you are allowed a permit to build in your jurisdiction. But even if that weren't true, you would want a survey done anyway. Good luck.

It's always a gamble in rocky areas. You could pay to have core samples drilled out.

try to find soething with a steep hill...the inlet could be the basement
