Personally, I've known since I was around 12. I didn't act on it, but I knew it.

I knew I was gay from the age of 6, so it’s not even a sexual thing. By the age of about 9 or 10 I knew exactly what gay was and everything fell into place. It’s nothing to do with boys playing with dolls or being effeminate, I was just like the other boys at school.

I’m 100% gay, but there are a lot of bisexuals who also call themselves gay. These are the ones who maybe have a 90% attraction to men and a 10% attraction to women. So because they have that stronger attraction to men, they say they are “gay”.

I don’t believe any guy who says “I was 24 before I realised I was gay”, it just doesn’t add up. When boys are about 12 they start to masturbate and they do it for years. How can some guy pleasure himself for years thinking of men and not realise he’s gay? If he’s pleasuring himself all those years thinking of women, then he must have some little sexual attraction to females (so he’d have to be straight or bisexual, a gay guy like myself wouldn't do that).

Update; sorry Pete, I wasn’t getting a dig in about you. I posted my message and then read what you said. I just can’t see how that works, but I’m pleased you’re happy with your life now.

I didn't know I was gay as a child since I didn't know what sexual attraction was. When I was going through adolescence I felt an attraction to other boys, but since I had always been told that gay people were bad I knew I couldn't be gay because I was always on the honor roll. When I started college I began to question myself because my feelings towards other guys weren't going away but I continued to suppress any gay thoughts. After college I realized that I was gay. The discovery was the realization of living a lie. I had always been gay and had been in denial due to lies and misperceptions that I believed to be true about gay people.

Yes. My attractions have always been towards guys. In retrospect, as a child I had crushes on guys on TV or in school. It wasn't something that I was verbal about or acted on.

There were times as little boys, we would fool around. Our maid's son would perform oral sex on us ... we were all 5 .. so was he. He ended up being the only straight one. Go figure. I consciously acknowledged being gay when I was 13. It was a few years after that my family knew. Then a couple more before I went public with it in newspapers and television.

I discovered I had feelings for the male of the species when I was in 8th grade in private school. I just did not know what it meant at the time. I found out what "gay" meant sophmore year in highschool. Came out to the world sophmore year in college.

P.S. The word dapper gets tossed around all too often these days, but I have to say that is a dapper pic of you. :)

I always knew that I was different. I always liked the company of other boys when I was young. I started to become sexually aroused by the sight of other boys at about 12. I acted upon it when I turned 15. Tried sex with a girl when I was 17. It was ok, but nothing like sex with a guy. I'm 44 and haven't slept with a female since that girl (my boyfriend's sister, LOL) when I was 17.

I've been attracted to guys since about 3rd grade, but I didn't know what it meant to be gay. No one ever explained that to me. When I started hearing about it in junior high, I started to think that maybe I was gay. I didn't want people to judge or make fun of me, so I denied it all through high school. I've finally come to terms with it now. I'm a sophomore in college.

Although I only realized I was gay when I was 13, if I think back, I ALWAYS was gay, even when I was a little kid.
I realized that in my age (13 years old at the time), I was not atracted to women at all, and figured out that my atraction to men only meant one thins: i was gay.

I am not gay, but I did find 'later in life' that I was sexually attracted to women, and have since enjoyed relations with men and women. (I am 32)
