There are just a little fewer clueless managers than there are clueless staff...but not much.

Find the book "The Peter Principle."

People tend to get promoted to the position in which they are incompetent.

They do a good job on the way up, but areclueless when they get there. Management is very reluctant to get rid of them, for fear of acknowledging they made a mistake,

It's been around, but the essage is timeless.
