The previews look amazing, but is the movie that good?

I liked the movie. Im not all for the blood and guts type movie, but i really liked 300. I didnt realize the guy who plays the king is the same guy who plays the phantom in "phantom of the opera" Hes a great actor.

The movie is a blockbuster.

Americans spent $70 million on the opening weekend, making 300 the third-highest opening ever for an 'R' rated movie, behind "The Matrix Reloaded" at $91.8 million and "The Passion of the Christ" at $83.8 million.

Some analysts doubted the film would gross $70 million in total U.S. receipts.

It will be interesting to see if the film holds audiences for a second week, although there really isn't much competition until late March.

To answer your question, yes, it really is that good. And it has the $$$ at the box office to prove it.

I saw it on Friday and I would agree, the preview makes it look like an easy nomination for best picture for the 2007 Oscars. But going into a movie with such high expectations is never good. The plot is boring, very little tension, which I don't understand because its a WAR movie! I mean the battle scenes are choreographed really well, but there's just not much of a plot. The only plot device in the movie is a scene at the beginning that is then flashed back near the end of the movie. Other than that its mainly just battle scene after battle scene. Plus, Ive talked with some Greek friends and they say that Sparta was a completely pathetic civilization and that they were only good warriors because they had no other life. All in all, Id give the movie 2/4 stars. It had some good fight scenes, some neat lines ("tonight we dine in hell!") but it also had some dumb lines that were unintentionally funny and the sex scenes were wayyy too weird (many people in the theater laughed during them) Id suggest this film for anyone who loved Frank Miller's graphic novel and mabye to war movie lovers, but other than that just wait till it comes out on DVD.

Yes its good. 4.5 out 5. Some scenes were weird though like the old guys who were the priest of the gods licking this 15 year old hottie so they can get info on who is going to win the battle and all this beheading stuff jeeeez they could have saved that for director's cut dvd release.
It is a solid very flowing movie. Its got political overtones too. Some say the U.S. can be compared as the Persians and some say the U.S are the Spartans.

Yes, it is very good. There obviously is a lot of blood and gore, but it is really done beautifully. The cinematography and special effects are amazing. And it is based on a true story that is amazing and inspiring. There was much more nudity than I expected (mostly just breasts and a couple of shots of a man's behind).

I can honestly say that it was unlike anything I have seen in quite some time, which is rare these days. So it is definitely worth it.

well the movies made over 70 mill. at the box office over the weekend and we all loved it. Alot of hard Abs looked like it was digitalized too lol most of the movie i heard was i think that's what made it so great alot of action and testosteroin/rage too a man's movie.

i watched it and i like it there was alot of action in the move it self is motivational to like never give up...
and there was a sex scene if want to know... it was nice hot lol

That movie F'N' kicked a@#! I highly recommend seeing. You won't be disappointed.
