if you do, the card looks something like this:

To see the type, got Start>run..
and type:
devmgmt.msc
hit ok and look for one.

or you can go to the site that supports your computer and enter the model number and look up the specs

if there isn't one, then you need a tv tuner either an external usb type or an internal one:

@youronmyfoot: i don't think they work if you just throw an aerial on them, i think you need cable or satellite to make them work. look on your cable box to see which cable you need.

The tuner card is the section you're maximum worried approximately. The MS media center will do what ever you tell it to with what ever that's fed from the tuner card. maximum tuner enjoying cards can recieve unscrambled analog television and cable. No prob, the laptop can then do channel alterations based on your time table. maximum cable companies are digital now so which you will choose the digital container. merely set the cardboard enter to channel 3 and the container to output 3 (merely like installation a vcr). And away you bypass. Now changing the channel will could desire to be achieved by way of the digital converter container so which you the two desire a distant blaster (we could your laptop talk over with the converter like a common IR distant by way of "blasting" the IR indicators throughout to be sure the container get the instructions) or somesort of cable link (usb in all probability) between the container and laptop. call your cable provider to confirm what works. the cost may well be for TVGuide online or some thing such as see and time table whats showing for the duration of the subsequent week or 2. needed in case you would be letting the laptop immediately do any recording or channel alterations. All this to do what a TIVO or DVR does.

I was just about to ask the same question kind of. I think it has a TV tuner card already installed. However I have attached an antennae/aerial and it does not work. I can't find the device in my Device Manager either.

When I tried to set it up it ask how you want to connect but it doesn't give the option for throw your aerial in the back it just says
Composite or S-Video
DVI, VGA or HDMI
Component (Ypbpr

Help! I have a leadwhich is 5 inches long with 2 connection on each end. 1 end has a hole but it doesn't attach to the aerial as it's not a snug fit but looks as though it should attach. The other end has seven pins.
