I did as an Airman. I'm a republican because of what little money I made I wanted to keep. I also had a neighbor who was on welfare who had much more than our family growing up and they never got off their asses. I've seen the liberals dumb down our youth to almost the drooling stage. I've seen rampant welfare. I'm not impressed in the least with their social programs,. They are wasteful and cost too much. I prefer a more efficient program and know throwing money at a problem generally only makes it worse.

I always find it interesting that people assume if you are wealthy, then you must be a republican. Pick the republicans out of this list :
1. Bill Gates, $53 billion, Microsoft
2. Warren Buffett, $46 billion, Berkshire Hathaway
3. Sheldon Adelson, $20.5 billion, Casinos
4. Larry Ellison, $19.5 billion, Oracle
5. Paul Allen, $16 billion, Microsoft
6. Jim Walton, $15.7 billion, Wal-Mart
7. Christy Walton, $15.6 billion, Wal-Mart
8. S. Robson Walton, $15.6 billion, Wal-Mart
9. Michael Dell, $15.5 billion, Dell
10. Alice Walton, $15.5 billion, Wal-Mart
I think you'll find there's a balance between Reps and Dems. Do the same with the Hollywood rich and you'll see they're mostly Dems.
The curious thing is that most, if not all, super-rich achieved wealth through principles associated with conservatism rather than liberalism --- even the die hard Dems.

Of course there are... those would be the toothless yokels, the beer-bellied redneck hicks and trailer park trash... all on Welfare, waiting on line to receive their ration of surplus cheese and dried milk... the ones that sit around chew tabacco as they watch Hee-Haw reruns, the Jerry Springer Show and read The National Enquirer in their latrines.
IF they had any common sense they'd SEE how the Republic Party has been mismanaging and squandering billions of dollars (they have no concept of what a billion dollars is...) and how they and the rest of America has been duped by the asinine slogans and ridiculous propaganda as the super rich and powerful profiteer from the contrived war, they get tax breaks and incentives and they turn around and outsource AMERICAN jobs to foreign countries (where they pay children pennies a day for 12-14 hour shifts, women a little more and men who are paid less than our minimum wages and they receive NO benefits whatsoever)... meanwhile, our AMERICAN elderly, disabled and retired that supported this nation are now living in substandard conditions, choosing between buying food or life-sustaining medicines and fringes above homelessness... and the new poor who were working men and women a few years ago are now losing their jobs that have been outsourced and are trying to work two or three jobs just to get by... and the super rich and powerful don't give a crap because they've brainwashed those dumb yokels and rednecks with meaningless words of supposed patriotism and to believe whatever they want them to yet they are too stupid to realize that slogans and propaganda won't put food on the table... and the super rich and powerful continue to profiteer, as they enslave Americans FINANCIALLY... they REALLY got it good, don't they?
The super rich and powerful spew nonsensical slogans and ridiculous propaganda for the working class and the poor to make sacrifices that themselves would never even think of making... they think themselves above the rest of us and the dumb yokels and rednecks continue to support the super rich and powerful like dutiful sheep led by the Judas Goat in the White House!

That is the problem with poor people. They are emotional and delusional. I met a beggar once who was going on about how strong the pound was on the international market that I was sorry for the idiot because all he had was the pound that I gave him.

Point taken...what you have to do is vote for those special interests that have you in mind...from a purely economic standpoint.......anyone who makes less than a $100,000 a year and votes Republican, they are politically retarded, reason being they vote against their own financial viability.
The interests behind Republican candidates are corporate interests.

The interests behind Democratic candidates are pro-labor,environment, education.

I have worked minimum wage jobs for a good chunk of my life. But in every one of them I rose in pay and position. As long as you demonstrate a good work ethic you don't make minimum very long. Provided of course that the companies that due the hiring aren't tied down with too many government regulations.

That I'm not a democrat! I made $ 20,000 last year and managed to make a house payment, pay my electric bill, sewer bill, heat bill, charge card bill, a loan, medical bills, and buy groceries for my husband and I plus anything else we needed on that. Without any state help! No democrat could do that, they'd have all the state help they could scarf up! My husband couldn't work and we didn't have any other income.
