People with no party affiliation had to join a big party in order to drum-up their issues. It happened with the Republican Party being infiltrated by Fascists-Theocracy Supporters.

I think the Republican party high-jacked the Evangelicals.
The Evangelical handlers are setting policy. Look a the Scooter Libby pardon movement. Scooter Libby wrote a book with a 10 year old girl was put in a cage with a monkey trained to rape her so later when she became a prostitute she would not form emotional bonds. He is a pervert, I have his book and plan to send it back to Amazon.

Your wrong , they were invited , encouraged and recruited into the Republican Party . For the votes .
The Party elite , I might add , has looked down on some of the religious right , as Rednecks

The political Republicans allied themselves with the Religious-Right, because their objectives were compatible, and the churches provided a lot of support (financial and popular) for their conservative agendas.
It's no different than any other political alliance. Those who share similar goals work together to increase their collective power and effect.
The Republicans are just better organized and more effective at rallying grass-roots support than most other groups.

The evangelicals have always been a part of the Republican party. They were known as the silent majority. But with the rise of the communist, socialist and general nut cases jumping on the bandwagon in the Democrat party, they finally woke up that silent majority. Good luck quieting them back down.

AGENDA? YES These people were always around on the fringe of society, but Reagan gave them a 'voice'. They used each other and cleverly disguised their disgust of communism to destroy everyone and everything they didn't agree with.

I believe that Scott has said it beautifully. know this....the Evangelicals as you call them....are not forcing you to believe ans worship.....However, if Muslims take over....their religion will force you to believe and bow and worship to Mohammad...there are no freedoms when it come to the Muslim religion.....are you atheist, pagans, Satan worshipers ready to be forced to worship......Remember BARRAK OBAMA BIN LADEN was born and raised a Muslim....he will always have those teachings with him.....allow him to become president.....then you will not have your freedom of religion as you do now, or freedom not to have religion.

It's much less complicated - they did it because Democrats have less of a problem with gays, premarital sex, freedom of religion and abortion. And, there is only one other viable party.
