My depression began with overwhelming anxiety. Then, as the anxiety faded, the depression got worse. Then, I became alcoholic because the meds weren't working and I was desperate for relief. Finally, I ended up in a hospital ER with blood all over and had no idea how it happened. I was placed in a mental hospital afterward on suicide watch. When I was released is when a friend gave me a book that solved all of my problems. It is the best treatment for just about any mental disorder I have ever found:

Take a deep breath, and think about the problem and go from there getting upset never solves the problems.

I do deep breathing exercises and while exhaling think the word R-e-l-a-x on my mind for about five or ten minutes a day.
Try it...it even works to help you loose weight.
