I must agree that they're not really the kind of pet to handle, and personally, living in Florida (the land of anoles), it amuses me to no end that people actually pay money for these lizards. (Yes, they're pretty, and I guess I can understand why people would want them, but they're so much better when you don't have to worry about buying things for them.)
Let me tell you now, they can and will and do bite, not that it hurts or can even draw blood, but they can will and do. (Used to use them for earrings.)
Getting them used to you.... you can -try- hand feeding, or handling them for short periods of time every few days, but there are no promises either of these will work. Also keep in mind that if he bails while you're holding him, they are fast, and you don't want to smoosh him...
And for J Dogg, that girl who "hypnotizes" them... that's just taking advantage of physiology... the blood supply to a reptile's brain, unlike in mammals, runs along the spine, flip them over and you basically put them in neutral. This works on lizards, alligators, crocodiles, frogs, and I would guess turtles and snakes as well. Scientific explanation for just about everything.

You got the wrong lizard if you wanted to handle it, they are very fast little things and there is no slowing them down they will bite on occasion but it does not hurt at all. However they are very easy to care for. If you are in the market for a more placid lizard that you can handle a fat tailed gecko is a great choice, bearded dragons are very placid and leopard geckos are good as well but do take a little longer to tame than the other two.

Anoles are not beginner lizards. You should keep them in a 20 gallon terrerium or bigger. You should put the terrerium on a stand in a busy traffic area. I have had three since December. They don't like being handled at all. I have read that it is possible to get them to eat out of your hand. Also there is a girl in Florida who "hypotizes" them by rubbing their bellies.

anoles are very shy pets hun, not a good choice if you wanted something to play with outside the cage. i had 4 of them, and they never did get used to me. choose a larger lizard next time, like a lepord gecko. those are awesome, and even come to you when you call them.

You really can't handle an anloe very much. They don't like to be handeled. If you want a lizard that can be played with then you need someting like a bearded dragon, iguana, or a mali uromastyx.

They do not like to be handled. If you want you can try to hold them for short periods of time and increase it slowly, this will get the animal use to your smell.

theoretically impossible. i have a theory that they dont cost very much b/c they are easy to lose and people keep buying them when they go missing.
