Modern rock is so generic. There is no originality left in music. It is so hard to tell all these new bands apart, from one another. They sound so much alike. Bands from the 60s, 70s and 80s for the most part had their own distinctive sound. There was also a lot more emphasis on musicianship.
The best modern band around is Coldplay. They are perfectionists. They take pride in their musicianship.

Are you kidding us?
It is so much choreography and remixed B/S now!
60's, 70's and most of the 80's had their own sound that you could identify simply from the guitarist (David Gilmore) or drummer (Phil Collins)
I enjoyed some Kiss and AC/DC, MOST of Cheap Trick, Journey, Foreigner, Boston, and such. All of Lynyrd Skynyrd, .38 Special, Allman Brothers, Marshall Tucker Band, BECAUSE they put their soul into their sound.
instead of some generic producer doing the work now.
I say leave the dance moves for the Dance FLOOR, and bring back the guitarists!

Every Era has their great bands. 70's and 80's started alot of
the music genres that you have now. Classic rock, Heavy metal, Blues, Southern rock and they set the stage and
standards for grunge bands, and the latest bands. Ask your new bands members who were their idols and who did they look up to when learning to play and make music. I do like
Green Day and a few new bands but you can't deny the staying power of all bands that came before them.

Nope. I am a fan of Thrash Metal from the 80's, and I am also a HUGE fan of the 70's rock. Today's rock is rediculous.

No way, music is getting progressively worse. Bad Company, Pink Floyd, Led Zep, Doors, nobody modern holds a candle.

You're crazy! Nothing beats 70's and 80's rock, you must not have been around to experience/appreciate it in it's glory.

I disagree fully! You can't begin to appreciate music until you have heard classic rock-and-roll!
