Went fishing and while sitting on the bank., got distracted for whatever reason, and glanced back just in time to see the fishing rod fly into the lake??

No. Happened to a friend of mine though. She ended up catching a much bigger fish later on.

Been there done that. I've also been out fishing in a boat and caught a rod and reel off the bottom of the lake. It looked like it was brand new. I'm still using it today. Here is a link to our lake if you'd like to see it. It's about 7 miles from my home.

This happened to me but I was fishing on a boat with my dad!! I was only 5!! There went my first Mickey Mouse fishing pole. I must admit I was a bit ashamed. :(

yup, happened plenty of times actually. fishing gets boring and im usually not paying any attention to it anyway.

-except i did win a fishing contest when i was 8 years old if that counts for anything! lol.

No, that has never happened to me actually. I haven't gone fishing in a very long, and I don't ever plan to go again because it's a cruel thing to do to a fish.

I have never had that happened for i never have fished before but it sounds like a wild ride or something like that!!!!!

quite a few times..i always get distracted when i go fishing..its kinda boring, so i have to amuse myself with something else..
