What is the Omen??

Question

And what is with the number 666? When I had a discussion with a bunch of friends, some say is it the date when the child of the demon is born whereas some say it's just crap talk? Is it true that the child of demon is already in earth? What's ur opinion and how true is all this? Some blame the disasters of the world on this 'child'? Have you heard of such things or do you think that this is just too absurd? .....

i am not a christian.. but i do know what a bible is..i used to study in a convent OK!!!!

An omen, or portent, is a phenomenon that is believed to foretell the future, often signifying the advent of change.

The number 666 appears several times in the Old Testament including in 1 Kings 10:14-22 as the number of talents of gold received by King Solomon in one year. "Now the weight of gold that came to Solomon in one year was 666 talents of gold". According to the Bible, Solomon fell into apostasy and built altars to Chemosh, Moloch, and Ashtoreth, pagan gods to whom human sacrifices were made. In his book "Secrets of the Freemasons", author Michael Bradley notes that the hexagram is known in Masonry as the Seal of Solomon: "...the hexagram is widely associated with the occult, and it is considered the most powerful of Satan's symbols, containing '666.' Occultists call it the 'trud' and use it in necromantic ceremonies to summon evil spirits."

Futurist Christian eschatology typically holds that the Mark of the Beast is one way in which the Antichrist will exercise power over the Earth during the period of Tribulation, because of the prophetic statement in Revelation 13 that "the Beast" will attempt to require all people to receive the mark on their bodies in order to buy or sell. A possible translation of the meaning of the number 666 may be: the number 666 will be the number that all currency will be based upon.

The Omen is suppose to be when the Antichrist is born onto this earth. I still don't know what 666 is, I've asked that question on Yahoo Answers as well but I didn't get anything that made sense, except for a passage in the bible which also doesn't describe the origin and meaning of it except it's the number of the beast. Also, the child is not on this earth, because Jesus is said to return at the next Millennium and he didn't come at this one. Also when that child does come onto earth we will see significant changes to this world, and no matter what we think it's a prophecy, we can't change it, what ever is meant to happen, is going to happen, no matter how we try to avoid or change it.

Some people believe that the number 666 is Roman letters that stand for the name of the Roman Emperor Nero. And that the book of Revolations was written about the destruction the Roman Empire was causing at the time, it had to be written in code (like 666 is the code for Nero) So that when he wrote it he would not be persecuted for bad talk about the Emperor.

The Omen was an old movie that was just remade a while ago, and in The Omen it features a demon child who is the "Anti-Christ".
