China could be a good contender, but it still has a long way to go for Quality control and maintenance. ( a friend of mine was working in the Nuclear Power Station in Daya Bay, built by the French and after a year, the french engeneers had to come back as the station was seriously deteriorating! Its a Nuclear Power Station...but the chinese wouldnt follow up on Maintenance...doesnt seem that bad, so no need to do it).

Sure, lots of man power but beware of them having the power...they are Ruthless, they think the rest of the world belongs to them.

But then, China is very much self centered. I'm not sure if the Muslim Extremist problem will be resolved and they might very well be ruling the world, very subtely. China has a group of Extremist, but they control them "good" for now (you might say it oppression, but subdividing countries based on a group of religion that cannot accept to live with other that are different, istn right...check out Kosovo, Pakistan, Cashmir...).

The World might go to shreds before any other power replaces the US. or Europe.

China. Remember what the 9% drop in their stockmarket caused the world to do just recently. Soon, when China sneezes the world will be catching colds, if we are not careful in maintaining the USA economy. Hopefully, the person that takes over BUsh, won't run the US down a drain like he has.

Bush has essentially made the US government deeper in debt, yet he has made a few US multinational companies extra billions. Sacrificing the country to enrich a few rich Americans.
