they do prefer certain people over others, but usually it's any person they have the most contact with that they prefer. they mainly just tolerate us. some do enjoy interaction like when u talk to them, but they dont really care about being handled.

they do need more than just food/water/clean cage. they need someone who will let them out in a ball to run every night. being cooped up in a cage is stressful & will shorten their lifespan. unless u have a 10 ft long cage---doubtful. also make sure the cage has a wheel inside.

no, he won't miss u when u leave. he'll soon adjust to the new person. however if he's never talked to, played with, he won't be tame when u return & may bite. they have to be handled daily to remain tame.

My son has a hamster and we play with her a lot. If you play with your hamster a lot then i would find someone who will do the same while your gone. If you don't, when you come back it may not want to be held anymore and start biting you. Ps. i think they know who treats them good and who doesn't . All animals do.

No. To a hamster, a human is a human. But if he goes for a long time without attention, he will have to get used to it again when you get back.

I don't think they really care as long as they have food, water, and a clean cage.

you would be able to desire to alter their food approximately as quickly as daily and alter their water as quickly as each 2 days on a universal foundation or......you may merely replace their food or water once you spot it rather is getting empty
