During the summer of 2001, I was at a snowboard camp at Mount Hood in Oregon and it started snowing on top while I was on the chairlift.
So yes, it does snow sometimes on the top of the mountains.

On July 4th, 1966 I lived in San Diego, California. I lived 4 blocks from the ocean in the community of Pacific Beach. It was 80 to 85 degrees. the sun was out. Not a cloud in the sky. I was weeding the flower beds in my front yard. At 10:30 am it started snowing. It snowed for 5 minutes exactly.
My mother, my sister, and my brother were all out on the lawn catching snowflakes on their tounge. None of it stuck to the ground , of course, but it was phenomanal.

i think there was a minor ice age back in the 1700's or 1800's it only lasted a few years. disrupted growing seasons, and caused a major population shift in the united states. it caused more damage than that but don't fill like trying to remember. i also think the snow was caused by a major volcanic eruption on the other side of the planet.

It does happen, but it's rare.
Here in Ohio there once was a year without
a summer(1816) when the temperature
seldom got above freezing and it snowed
on July 4. This was caused by volcanic
eruptions elsewhere in the world.
