Not really.

First, these titles are often mixed together - along with "Administrative Assistant" - they are all similar, but not quite the same - but the company may not make the exact distinctions.

Receptionists are the people who are in the lobby of a building. They are the ones who direct guests to where they are going. They are also often the "Operator" on the company's main line. Most companies don't have "pure" receptionists anymore, they will do Administration work as they can - including scheduling and filing and other tasks. Only really large companies with their own buildings and lobbies have full-time receptionists.

An Administrative Assistant is pretty much what we would have called a "Secretary" not so long ago. They can support either a high-level manager or a department. They have a wide variety of support tasks - and are often the ones who give breaks to the receptionist or cover if they are sick (if the company has one)

An Office Manager is in charge of all the functions in the office. They may have several Admins and/or Receptionists who report to them - or they may be the only Administrative support person in the office. They most often have a larger scope of responsibilities - and may be authorized to make certain purchases (like supplies)

So - while these titles are related, they are not the same.

Having said that, most companies don't bother with the formality of these distinctions. I work in a small company, and all three of these titles could apply to the same person in our office.

Hope that helps!
