Hey I'm trying to play a pretty simple song (redemption song by bob marley) and I wanted to transcribe the chords into the key of A. It's a lot harder than I thought. the origional chords in the key of G are

G Em C Am

C Em C D

I'm tryin to work with the circle of the fifths diagram and everything but this is really confusing for me. Can anyone tell me how to play these notes in the key of A or where I can find out? Thanks a lot

You need to transpose up a whole step (two frets down the neck on the guitar). So the chords would be:

A F#m D Bm

D F#m D E

This is very simple, but since the tone that you wanna play it in is higher it's gonna be harder to reach that tone when you sing it. If it has lyrics ata tall.

A Fm D Bm

D Em D E

To transpose from the key of G to the key of A, you need to go up one whole step, or one letter. Therefore:

A Fm D Bm

D Fm D E

Just move everything up a whole tone.

A F#m D Bm

D F#m D E
