It seems that most human beings have a strong craving to develop intimacy with another person at the deepest level. Sexual release can be gained without love. People can mitigate loneliness by just being friends. But to develop a trusting bond with one other person, someone with whom you share a bed and a commitment to care for one another until one of you dies is a much greater step to take. And the rewards of warmth, trust, caring, and love are enormous.

Companionship, though not perfect is a human need. Those deprived of it end up unhappy like the crazy cat ladies on Q&A.

Life is better with a significant other. We're 13 years and very happy MOST OF THE TIME! ***LOL*** But like I said, it ain't perfect. But I wouldn't trade it for anything.

It's very simple. I am happier & healthier with my partner. After 15 years, I I think it's safe to say that I would have been misserable and dead without him. Not to mention broke. lol. (I make my money, but he is the one who encouraged me to continue my education).
