Exposure to air is one of the best ways to heal, as well as using antibiotic creams and keeping it clean. I would vote no unless you absolutely feel awful going out without covering it up, but I would avoid it if you can. Putting makeup on a scab won't kill you, but it could delay the healing process and could actually end up making the scab more noticeably with foundation or concealer caked on!

I have always put makeup on scabs...not that I get them often, but when I do I use a concealer. I pat it on gently then let it dry. Following that I apply a foundation and a loose powder to set the foundation. As long as you take proper care of your skin at night (and remove all makeup), as well as morning before applying makeup then you should be fine. Just don't go crazy and try to hide it completely because then it will look bad. If you use the right colors you will be fine. I suggest using a yellow to cover skin imperfections, such as scars, birthmarks, moles, scabs, etc., and a concealer that is the same color as your skin tone to cover blemishes. I hope this helps!

Putting makeup over a scab should not hurt anything. However, sometimes putting makeup on a scab makes it more noticeable than when the scab is just left bare.

I actually did yesterday! I got a fever blister last week on my chin, I get them there often instead of my lips cause I had high fever. I had an important event to attend and knew people were going to take pictures of me so just for that day I packed on the powder on that spot but any other day I avoid putting powder on it till it's completely gone! You have to let the scab breath and let air hit it that way it dries faster. Try cleaning it with oxygen peroxide, it dissinfects AND it helps dry it away fast! Good luck!

try this , use a white eyeliner and trace around the scab and blend away form the wound, this would make the scab color less red looking. this trick works well for pimples also.

keep using a antibotic cream on the wound.

For most cases, i would say NO!!! scabs are typically very DRY, and covering up dry skin is never a good idea b/c it draws attention to it.

However, if it is crucial that you cover it up, put a green concealer on it (this eliminates the red) and then cover it with your foundation.

You can but it will probobly look gross and not cover it up very well. It might make it look more noticeable since scabs are generally uneven so the makeup would cake on it.

i think if the scab is small and on your face it is a good idea to put coverup on it. if it's completely closed and healing up. if there's any trace of it being still open and fresh you may want to wait or it could get infected.
