A Chinese friend of mine who is a big fan of anime would spend over $5000 on collecting anime/manga and any anime-related toys.
It may sound crazy but he does and he's over 20 years old.
On the other hand:
I asked my other non-Asian friend what they think of anime, they all said that they hate those Japanese Cartoons.
Any one noticed the same thing as I do?

Well I would say yeah more are Asian, but i say that only because it's from there. I'm not saying that if your asian you love anime. I knoe s lot of non-asian anime addicts, so it's kinda anyones guess.

The fact that I'm half French and Chinese isn't the reason I like anime even though I'm 26. Ok I haven't spend that much on toys and anime. Maybe only 300 dollars in Gundam to make but that's all.
I think the majority of the person who watch sub anime ( in any language ) are not Asian related. I know lots of 100% percent French who enjoy it.
But it is true that Chinese ( under 25 ) really like Japanese animation.

Nope. I've met more people that aren't Asian and like anime and manga. Also, I recently went to an anime convention and most of the convention population was not of asian descent.

I'm African American and I love anime!! I took Japanese in high school and completely fell in love with it after that! Granted, I liked anime before, but I gained more respect after having been taught more about the language and culture!!!

Well Japanese people kind of started the whole Anime thing.
I haven't noticed the same thing. There's a bunch of poser-gothic WHITE girls who know nothing of the history of the term "Gothic" who love anime, draw it, obsess over it.
One of 'em even told me they wanted to be Japanese.

No not really, I think that's a stereo type.
I am the opposite all of my anime friends are Caucasian.
and I'm also over 20 yrs old :)

yes, there's a girl in my class that is not Asian and likes it but shes all into learning Japanese and we make fun of her saying she wishes to be Asian and get surgery in her eyes

Maybe. I'm asian and I like anime! My friend are not asian and they don't even know what anime is!
The thing is, people's minds are different. like or dislike. asian or not asian. etc.
