was an Emmy-award winning American children's television program. It aired on Saturday mornings for one season, from 1988 to 1989, featuring the popular fictional character Ernest P. Worrell (Jim Varney), his unseen friend Vern, and various others.

Actually it was more than a car commercial. There was an actor who had a show, and he always spoke to the camera "Vern" and would say "you know what I mean Vern?" As soon as I remember his name I'll let ya know :)

i think it's from the movie, over the hedge? i recall the name of the turtle was vern. That movie was hilarious.
