You cannot. Ask your optometrist, and that is what he will tell you. Your vision gets worse because of things completely beyond your control.

Reduce time on unnecessary near work. Take a break after 30-40 mins of near work.
Ensure that the book is 30cm away from your eyes when reading.
Ensure that the screen is 50cm away from your eyes when using computer.
When watching TV ensure you sit at a appropriate distance away from its size.
Have regular eyes checks.

dont sit too close to the television, keep room well lighted, dont squint, dont read while moving (as in riding in a car)
