If you know around when you will start- begin taking Motrin/Advil/aleve a day before. This gets the meds in your system because once the cramps start, it is harder to stop them. Don't take aspirin- it makes you flow heavier because it is a blood thinner- you want an anti-inflammatory like what I listed.
I have had the same problem for years. This is what my doctor told me to do. I use aleve (naproxen sodium) because it lasts longer so you take less. This is what my doc prescribed to me too. Keep taking the meds until your period ends. It helps a lot to relieve the cramps. Also, when you start, your body flushes all vitamins & minerals out- take a good multi-vitamin to replace them and this should help the dizzies. I have this problem too & this solution works for me.
Hot baths help soothe as does a heating pad. (not at the same time, obviously!)
Good luck, babes!

You are not to young to go the the gyn. You need to have yearly exams to see if you have cervical cancer thats why its important. Also have the gyn. check your fibrous that can cause painful period, how do you know the size of them if you dont go the gyn. Your mom is tripping. If your mom dont understand she's going to loose you. A mom should be open and understanding. What if you might have a cyst? You might need an ultrasound.

I reach puberty when I was 12 yrs old, and I used to have heavy periods back then.. I went to see a gyno. he prescribed me a birth control to help regulate my periods. you have to seek medical help, bleeding heavily is not normal. If you have heavy bleeding for more than 4 days or more than 5 pads/day, please see a gyno.before you lose consciousness.

Birth control does help with regulating your period if you have irregular periods and if they are painful because of cramps. you are not to young to go to a gyno to talk to them and see what they can do for you.
