I've often been tempted on employment applications to tick the box asking "Are you a member of a visible minority group?" I am lesbian, I wear it on my sleeve, though not everyone realizes it. Do we qualify as a visible minority?

Actually, I think being of non-normative gender (this may be what you mean by wearing your lesbianism on your sleeve) does make one a visible minority. Women get fired all the time, essentially for being "too butch" - refusing to wear makeup, long hair etc.

Well It depends on how obvious we make our selves what we are. I would tick the box if the opportunity ever came up cause that's how I feel about the situation but others may not because they are to afraid to admit it or they just don't think so.

...How exactly do you wear it on your sleeve? Like the Nazi Swastika or the Jewish Star of David during WWII, or what?

Anyway, no. We are not a visible minority. A visible minority is one in which you can easily distinguish someone based on the color of their skin or their superficial features. For instance, you would have no trouble pointing out a black or hispanic person in a room. *They* are _visible_ minorities. Not us (unless you happen to be a black lesbian, an hispanic bisexual, or a middle eastern gay guy).
