its some total bs. theyre the first ever big east team to have at least 20 wins and at least 10 conference win and not make it in. they beat gtown, marquette at marquette and split villanova, finished ahead of villanova but nova made it in. doesnt make sense.

Good call, they have quality wins over Georgetown, and Marquette then you see that they are lacking in good quality wins. 3-7 against the top 50 of the RPI not bad considering they were in the Big East, but a Mid Major that went 3-2 or 4-3 is more impressive because they usually have to go on the road to get those wins and the selection board realizes that. Butler is a good team to look at as mid major to get a bid 4-1 against the top 50 in the RPI and almost all of those came away from home. So Butlers wins meant more than a team like Syracuse which lost at home to top rated teams.

Odd. Illinois should've been left out and Syracuse should've been in. Syracuse has a better record and come out of a better conference. The Big 10 is an overrated conference and UNC should've been #1 overrall because they beat Ohio State. The committee did a crappy job selecting the teams. The way they played against Notre Dame they should have beaten them. Even if they knew they would be left out

There were 105 or so teams this season with 20 wins or more. Only 64 slots were available, and Syracuse is what you might call a "bubble" team who may be as good, or better than some who went it, but just didn't make it. Hindsight is always 20/20 and if they could replay the last game, you can bet they would have left blood, sweat, and tears on the floor....hopefully just figuratively speaking.

I think Nike wishes they had picked another team to feature their new uniforms on.... now they've only got three teams with the new unis in the big dance. They lost out on a quarter of their advertising opportunity!
Syracuse should have made it. But you can find teams every year that should have made it but get left out. It's part of the frenzy of March Madness.... the commentators love these story lines.

It was right. And they weren't ripped off.
Well sorry but they didnt deserve to make it. Their non-conference schedule was absolutely horrible and the best team they played was Oklahoma State (a non NCAA tournament team) and they lost to them. So because they did so bad in the Big East and didn't even make the Big East Tournament combined with a terrible non-conference schedule they actually didnt deserve to make it. Sorry but it is true. Hope this helped!!

they just beat georgetown two weeks ago (who is a 2 seed), and they beat marquette, oh and they beat villanova, all teams that got in. And they beat UConn three times this year. I know they were down, but not too down. Still had a winning record in the big east. Wright State got in (one of SU's "bad losses") and Drexel (another of SU's "bad" ones) is the team Jay Bilas thinks got robbed more than Syracuse.
Fire the committee. All of them. And fine em too. They did a poor job.

this is going to be a hell of a confusing journey to make it into, and Syracuse is sliding round on the bubble's part in my view. in the journey that they can make a good run of it to end the season and get some wins contained in the massive east journey, they ought to have a shot at transferring into. I is only no longer a great deal surprised in the journey that they are between the communities they characteristic on determination sunday who does no longer get in, inspite of the truth that...

I think it was the right call. Syracuse just didn't get it done this season. Everyone who received a bid either were automatics, or had very strong seasons. For example, look at a cinderella like VCU. They had a 22-win season. They earned that spot, granted they were an automatic bid, they should have made it regardless.
