Just like you would in most cases, play more games. You receive the provisional rating to let others know you have just started. You must play more. Once you receive an actual rating you win or lose points differently. Provisional allows you to lose or gain points different because they are trying to find your appropriate level. After you get your rating that will be what they approximate your strength to be. Play more have fun, just a quick tip, Don't worry about the rating, you do that and you get scared to play cause you don't want to lose your points, the rating is only to find opponents at your level. If you worry about it to much, the game will stop being as fun.

You have to play a certain number of rated games. You are provisional because you have not played enough to accurately determine a rating for you. I believe it's 15 or 20 games.
