The slope is the coefficient of x. That is, the number next to x is the slope.

For y = (1/2)x, the slope is the fraction 1/2 and the y-intercept is 0 for b = 0 in the formula y = mx + b.

The slope is given by y/x=1/2. So the slope is 1/2. Since you dont have a constant in the equation the intersection is at 0 for both x and y.
If you replace x=0 then y=0 also.

The general equation of any line is this:

Y=MX+B where M is the Slope and B is the Y-Intercept.

So here you have...
Y=.5X+0

So, your slope is 1/2 (.5) and the Y-Intercept is 0...

Hope this helps!
