I am done with the majority of a website nothing is online yet but now i need to figure out how to have the users of the future website be able to sign on to thier account so a sign up page they fill out name location info about them username n password
they hit submit they then get the automated email to verify thier email addy
once thier account is verified i want them to be able to change settings with in thier account and upload files
how do i do this what do i need to read up on is it mysql database???

Yes, you could store user profiles in a MySQL database.

Yes, MySQL is free. There are plenty of tutorials online, you'll need to learn a scripting language like PHP.
