We have a right triangle.

Given:

hypotenuse = 14

height = 5

You need to use one of the trig functions to find one of the missing angles.

sinx = 5/14

Go to your calculator and type the fraction 5/14 and then press the sine function. Make sure your calculator is in degree mode.

Once you find one of the missing angles, you will be able to find the other by SUBTRACTING the angle that you will find from 90 degrees.

The angle opposite the 5: sine = 5/14 = 0.2857

Angle = about 17 degrees

The angle opposite the height (5) =sine -1 5/14 = 20*-55'-12"
ergo : the other angle = 180* - (90* + 20* -55' - 12" )
= 180* - 110* -55' 12"
= 69*-04'-48"
