I got a really nice ring with diamonds and blue sapphires in it, but after a day or 2 it turned my finger green. It also happens with certain other jewelry I have. The stuff I have isn't cheap either.

That's the copper oxidising. Anything with alot of copper will do this! It doesn't necessarily mean it's cheap... Unless it's supposed to be sterling silver or something, in which case the copper content is probably a little too high compared to the silver content... In any case you can try coating the metal that touches your skin with anything and it will help. Clear nailpolish like the above person suggested would probably work!

Bue and green usally mean it is a cheaper make of jewlery(alot of copper) the red bumps are allergy related. The best thing to do is,stay away from cheap jewlery,I am pretty sure you are paying more for it then what it is really worth. Save up for nice jewlery like tiffany and company,it would be better, real and last way longer, yea it wpuld cost more, but in the long run it would be worth it,instead of spending money on cheap jewlery that turns and will also turn your fingers green or blue

no it doest mean its fake of cheap... most staining isn't caused by an allergy--it's a reaction between our skin and the metals used in jewelry, especially when the jewelry touches areas that perspire.

That usually happens when the jewelry is fake.

the gems are probably real and the gold or silver is so fake u couldn't even imagine it... no offense to u, but the person you bought this jewelery from might not know it was fake.

Has to do with the acid content in your skin. Try coating your jewellery in clear nail polish.

You may be allergic to that kind of metal.

When I wear yellow gold I turn green, so my alternative is wearing white gold which I am not allergic too.

SOME JEWELRY USES COPPER AS ONE OF THE METALS
TO FORM ALLOYS. WHEN PERSPIRATION (SALT) REACTS
WITH IT, IT CAUSES THE COPPER TO OXIDIZE AND TURNS
IT GREEN.
