In 1985 I was 12 and I used to ride my bike up to the local store and buy cartons of cigarettes for $11 in New Jersey.
When I hit high school, we had a smoking section for students. This was 1987..

I recall the smoking age in Ohio in 1985 being 16. You could get your license and legally buy cigarettes at 16.

there were none? i think it was 19 in 1995, but i don't know about 1985
