The Summer Olympics run the same years as the American presidential elections:

since 1948 when the Summer Olympics were reinstated after World War II, 1948,52,56,60,64,68,72,76,80,84,88,92,96,2000,04.

The Winter Olympics were on a similar schedule until 1994 when they switch to the inbetween years of the Summer Games. So, 1992,94, 98, 2002, 2006 and the next in 2010.

They are both every 4 years. They used to be held during the same year, 1980, 1984, etc. But in the 1990's, the held the winter olympics after only a 2 year wait, so it would alternate with the summer olympics, in a staggered pattern. 2004 was summer olympics, 2006 was winter, 2008 will be summer, 2010 winter, etc.

Yes, every 4 years, but you might be confused because summer and winter are alternated every 2 years. For example, summer is 1996, 2000, 2004, 2008. Winter is 1998, 2002, 2006, 2010.

Yes. They are every four years. The winter olympics are 2 years after the summer olympics. Or the summer olympics are 2 years after the winter olympics which every way you look at it. The next Summer olympics are in 2008 in Beijing. The next winer olympics in 2010.

Actually, the summer and winter olympics are both every 4 years, but they are 2 years apart each. So, there are olympics every 2 years and it switches off inbetween winter and summer
