Has anyone else gone through the nesting stage before labor began? I am due soon and I cant seem to stop cleaning. It has been going on for almost three weeks. Today I emptied out my china cabinet, washed everything, dusted the cabinet and put everything away. I do laundry everyday even if it is just a few things. I dust my house twice a day. My house is spotless, but I always find something to clean. I dont even think about cleaning, I just find myself doing it. It got really bad today.
I know that this stage happens right before labor starts, but Im not sure how long before. If you have been through this, how long until you went into labor? It sounds silly, but I am kind of anxious to see my baby boy. Thanks for any advice.

i did that too but i only did it for 2 weeks then i went in for a regular check up and i was already dialated 5cm so they just induced me... good luck... when they time is right your baby will come.... i need some house cleaning if you run out of things to clean.... lolz

Yes it is normal and it can start a few months before labor and gets worse the closer to your due date because your mind is trying to get ready for the baby to come home. I never went threw it with my first child but my HUBBY did LOL. I don't know how long it will be till you get to meet that little guy because I went into premature labor and had my son 3 weeks early. I am now only 20 weeks pregnant and I have some of those tendencys already but that could be because I have a 1 1/2 year old to take care of as well LOL. I don't know if this helps you or not but it I know that feeling of just wanting to see your child so I hope that it is not long for you.

I'm 32 weeks and for the past week I've really been cleaning I mean everything but I've done this alot with each pregnancy I have been freaking out when just 1 dish get's dirty and I have 3 other kids my oldest said I'll be glad when you have the baby because your being mean I guess all I want is to bring my baby into a home that is nice and clean and ready for him.

heres one for ya , I disinfected the brand new crib mattress, scrubbed it for almost an hour , talk about obsessive, just keep going with it because you aren't going to be able to do it for a little while after the baby gets here, i think that why there is a nesting faze
and it seems like it was a couple weeks after the mattress think that i had my son : )

i went through the nesting stage b4 birth, i started cleaning like that about 2 months b4 i gave birth...and i was like u about a few weeks b4 i gave birth...its completely normal girl...dont worry about it, and good luck with the new baby!!

It is normal. I think i only did it for a few weeks.
