Because you look at too much porn or subscribed to something in the past. Once some companies have your email address they'll keep sending it to more and more companies until you hate life and want to get a new email address. I had this problem a while ago and it's a pain in the ***. At the bottom of every spam email there is usually a link to unsubscribe from their services and it is usually in VERY small print. Go to the link and unsubscribe... It usually only takes a few seconds to unsubscribe. You may have to do this to every spam mail in your inbox but within days you should notice a huge change. Sometimes the same companies send out various different types of spam, so by unsubscribing to one email you could be eliminating more than one spam email in your inbox every day... It might take 15 mins to unsubscribe to all of them in your inbox but trust me... ITS SO WORTH IT!!!!

It's called spam, and unfortunately it is a part of being on the Internet. Different email providers have differing kinds of filtering, I find Google Mail to filter quite well.

You should also be very careful where and to whom you post your email address. If you have spyware lurking on your system it may have also picked up your email address and put it into spammer lists.

get yourself one good email acct and protect it. Don't give it out on registration forms....don't give it out to websites when you buy somthing

I usually create a quick throw away acct for anything that is of temporary importance. I usually set it to forward right into my primary email so I don't have to go tracking down incoming....then when it's purpose is served I drop the forwarding and my primary is still protected. (at least until one of my friends launches a porn site marathon prank using my addy)
