with out the www sub domain, my site does not work. it did befor. Any reason why or how to fix it?

It depends on the 'Host' Server setup. I lost the ability to post the short version of my website when I changed hosts. The original host site was set up to accept the short (minus www) version. The new Host was not set up that way. So you either changed host sites, or your host site changed their settings on their server. If you really feel you have to use the short version, try contacting your host site support group and discuss it with them.
