Not if you didn't buy it, or receive it as a gift bought by someone else.

you are legally entitled to make ONE copy for your own private use to protect your investment.
this basically means you can make a Hard copy (a duplicate CD in some cases as well as being able to RIP the CD to your computer so you can use the music on an MP3 player.
What you can not do is distribute that music to any one else by either making an additional copy or by means of file share programs (limewire, shareaza, bearshare etc).
if you decide to get rid of the original CD or sell it on you have to make sure whom ever buys it gets the backup copy you make as well as deleting the mp3s from your computer and your mp3 player.
by upload i pressume you mean RIP to your computer to sync with your mp3 player. this you can do. if you mean upload to a file share site or to your computer in non copyprotected mode that you can not do.
Likewise you can not place any file (song or video) on a website for example without public performance permission from the licene holder. break any of those conditions and you are in trouble.
I hope that makes it clear. (My understanding of British copyright law).

if in doubt contact the copy right owner listed on the CD case artworks for permission to do what you want.

You admit to merchandising "right copies" and falsely marking them as "used." they're by making use of no skill used; used CDs are of their unique covers and somebody paid for them. In different words, the performer even have been given some royalty in some unspecified time interior the destiny. right here, you're cheating the performers and the distributors out of their expenditures. then you certainly are making a pretend assertion on eBay for the entire international to verify. i'm a customary eBay consumer and in case you have been to cheat me during this manner i might somewhat checklist you. i might additionally checklist you to PayPal if I paid that way, and in case you have been interior the U. S., i might checklist you for mail fraud. you have an exceptional urge for foodstuff for existence in penal complex, for specific.
