On March 19, 1918, the U.S. Congress established DST from the last Sunday in March to the last Sunday in October. The wartime measure, however, proved unpopular among farmers, and Congress repealed it in 1919. Woodrow Wilson, another avid golfer, vetoed the repeal twice but his second veto was overridden.

Well, it was up to congress they only did that cuz so that we could save some energy in the summer time and well, i know i do also think it is a pretty dumb idea on top of losing an hour of sleep.

I agree, leave it alone. And I'd like to know the same thing, WHO in their infinite wisdom decided that we needed to do this? Why stop there, why don't we just eliminate changing the clock ever again?

This happened back in the early 70s, when we had the first gas shortage. I'm not sure what their thinking was then, but it didn't last then either. I think it falls under the oxymoron category of government intelligence.

I think it sucks, they should just leave the clocks the way that they are, spring, ahead fall, back it seems like a waste of time

Whats the point if we go ahead an hour then go back one then if we didn't move our clocks at all wouldn't it just be the same?

It kind of messed me up this morning. But I will like it this week when we have an extra hour of sunlight.
